The Audi relay is a switching device that employs a small electrical current to control a much larger current in a second circuit. Originally, this switch is operated by an electromagnet that opens or closes various sets of contacts. It is capable of controlling an output circuit of higher power than the input circuit and thus, can be considered as a form of an electrical amplifier. It basically routes power to a circuit or component whenever activated. This relay is usually used for components that require a lot of current such as the headlights, fuel pump, AC compressor clutch, cooling fans, rear window defogger, heater and AC blower fan, ABS system, power windows, seats, horns, and the ignition system. This relay is no more than a rectangular box having a magnetic coil, armature, and set of contact points sheathed inside. Typically, it may have four of five spade terminals at its bottom and a cover that may or may not have a simple wiring schematic printed on it.
There are three basic types of relays. One is the open or the most common type wherein when the coil is energized, the armature closes and routes the power to a circuit component. Second is the normally closed wherein when the coil is energized to turn OFF a circuit component, the armature is normally closed and is pulled open. And third is the dual relay which routes power one way when it’s off and another way when it is on. Relays that carry high loads have higher failure rates.

In your Audi, the valvetrain is the system of valves and valve-operating mechanism where the internal combustion engine draws in air or fuel mixture into the cylinders and releases the combustion products to the exhaust. The engine in your vehicle is basically a reciprocating pump that is capable of pulling in a certain amount of air per minute. Because the fuel takes up a little space to combine with the air, the power output of the engine is limited in relation to its air-pumping capacity...

The operation of the steering system in your Audi starts when force is applied to the steering wheel. This force is transmitted to the pinion gear and is transferred to the steering rack. At the end of this rack is the Audi tie rod which does the job of pushing or pulling the spindle in order to make the wheels spin...
