Everybody knows that one of the things that an Audi vehicle needs in order to work is fuel. Fuel is a vital component of your car’s engine in order for it to create the power needed by the wheels to rotate. But in order for it to do this, it must have a steady supply of fuel. And the component in your car that is responsible for the said fuel supply is the fuel pump. A major component of your Audi vehicle’s fuel delivery system, the Audi Fuel Pump is a device that supplies the fuel contained in the fuel tank to the engine.
There are two types of fuel pumps: mechanical pumps and electrical pumps. Mechanical fuel pumps were used in earlier cars and are driven by a lobe in the engine’s camshaft. Because of this design mechanical pumps are often attached to the engine or to the frame rail between the tank and the engine. However, most cars on the road today already use electric fuel pumps for better fuel delivery performance. Located inside the fuel tank, electric fuel pumps work by pushing the fuel to the engine, creating a positive pressure in the fuel lines. The fuel pump is activated once the ignition switch is turned on, and the ignition switch starts the relay that handles the high current load needed by the pump to function.
But just like any automobile component, the fuel pump is vulnerable to damage and can wear out over time. Regular maintenance of the pump is necessary for its continued operation, thus it must be replaced immediately if damaged. And if you need an Audi Fuel Pump, then you don’t have to look further. We have a wide selection of Audi Fuel Pumps and other parts and accessories available for your Audi vehicle.
