The special edition for 2008 Audi A4 model was introduced recently at the Chicago Auto Show. The Audi A4 has a front bumper and grille design are made to look more sporty looking, lower side door flares, and integrated rear trunk lid spoiler. One of the differences that the special edition will have is the 17-inch wheel with a nine Y-spoke pattern The interior of the model which is equipped with Quattro includes heated front seats which are embellished with leather and metallic paint. The models which are outfitted with FrontTrak has an improved value of $405; the Quattro models get an improved value worth $1,155 on the overhaul.

All of the special models come with a full year subscription to SIRIUS Satellite radio. This comes with music and sports that are free from interrupting commercials, news, talk, entertainment, traffic, weather, and data. The optional sports upgrade of the full S line and the Titanium packages will still be available. A couple of features included are the Bluetooth hands-free preparation, iPod adaptor, a DVD-based Audi navigation system, and wood beltline trim.

It is expected that the availability of the Audi A4 Special Edition will some time in the middle of March this year. Both Sedan and Avant models which run on 2.0-liter TSFI engines will be offered.

The new Audi A4 has not yet hit production and despite that, Audi is now taking in 33 000 pre-orders of the vehicle. After being available for test drives in countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, car buyers have been showing a great outpouring of interest over this vehicle.

According to Ralph Weyler, Member of the Board of Management at AUDI AG for Marketing and Sales, “At the time of market launch in the first European countries we already counted 33,000 customer orders. The orders received and the impressive response from customers and the media have exceeded all our expectations. From our perspective, this is an extremely positive sign. As our most-sold model, the Audi A4 holds a special significance with respect to our ambitious goals.” By 2018, Audi plans to double its sales in the United States.

The new Audi A4 is 185 inches long and is 4.5 inches longer than the earlier A4 model. I is also wider than its predecessor by 17.9 inches. The vehicle’s body style has also been improved for better aerodynamics. It now has a “front body overhang that has been considerably reduced and the bonnet and wheelbase are now noticeably longer. A long, coupe-style roof line meets the side sections of the body at an almost invisible zero-gap joint”. The vehicle has an increased wheelbase of 110.6 inches and rear passenger knee room has gone from 1.5 inches to 35.75 inches. The vehicle also comes equipped with “Xenon Plus” headlights (consisting of 14 LEDs) that have a daytime driving lights option. The new A4’s body shell is 10 % lighter than the previous model. It has two gasoline engines and can deliver 243 lb – ft of torque from 3000 to 5000 rpm. The car can accelerate to 62 mph in only 6.2 seconds.

The Golden Steering Wheel award is a prestigious award that is given to German cars that have distinguished themselves as excellent, high performance innovators in their vehicle category. Awarding of the Golden Steering Wheel award has been a practice since 1975. The “Golden Steering Wheel Award” jury is composed of “VIPs, technical experts and professional racing and rally drivers, [who] had the chance to test out the nominees on a specially cordoned-off circuit.”

This is the 16^th win for the automotive manufacturer with the four –ring badge (Audi). Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG was present to receive the esteemed award. Canadian icon Bryan Adams graced the launch of Audi’s newest killer weapon—the new Audi A4. The launch was held at the Frankfurt Motor Show, making car lovers and music fans alike a little taste of Audi’s sweet melody of success.

The new A4 will come to market with a drastically more sporty and dynamic look, backed up by hardware upgrades including a new aluminum-intensive suspension setup and improved Quattro system. Engine choices remain the same, though slightly more power is available. A seven-speed DSG gearbox is said to be fitted, alongside the standard six-speed manual.

Audi promises superior responsiveness and balance from the best A4 yet. Even the drivetrain has been repackaged, allowing the engine to move further back in the vehicle enabling a more desirable weight balance. The entire package has grown, and is now slightly larger than its usual contemporaries, the Mercedes C-Class and the BMW 3-series.

The all-new Audi A4 is here, and it comes in $2,000 more than the previous model. The said new breed of A4 is scheduled to reach our shores in early 2008. Audi’s new runner was unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show, set to arrive at the UK in two petrol engines, a 158bhp 1.8-liter TFSI and a 261bhp 3.2-liter V6. It will also be available in three diesel engines, a 141bhp 2.0-liter, 187bhp 2.7 and a 237bhp 3.0 engine. All A4 come in six-speed manual transmission aside form the 2.7, which gets to have a CVT.

The new A4 is based on many of the same underpinnings as the A5 coupe, which means it should be every bit as sharp to drive, although only the 3.2 and 3.0 will come with quattro four-wheel-drive as standard. As in the A5, this has a 60:40 rear bias.

The A4 also ought to ride well. On standard suspension the A5 is easily the best-riding Audi we’ve driven, even on 19-inch wheels. No doubt Audi’s recent policy of testing in the UK must take some of the credit.

All of the UK launch models will start in SE trim, which means they get 17-inch alloys, three-zone climate control, a 180-watt CD audio system with a 6.5-inch color display, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and wipers and aluminum interior trim.
