Audi Includes IBM WebSphere Portal to Improve Information and Communication Management
As a means of improving equipment and upgrading technology, the Volkswagen owned Audi has installed a full portal platform based on the IBM WebSphere Portal. The portal has put into action to provide as integrated, central and multilingual access point for the Audi employees all over the world. The content has been customized to the position of employee.
With the WebSphere Portal, there is no need to re-type data or switch from one medium o another. As a result, the task and system will be made faster and more proficient.
Because of internationalization, the necessity to make a corporate change arise and Audi needed to deal with the dispute about the implementation of new measures including the reorganization of employee behavior as well as organizational Human Resource Management (HRM) tasks.
In the press release, Anton Kramm, Audi’s head for of IT Web solutions stated, “Our aim was to provide new technologies and online media that would enable our employees to gain comfortable, quick, Web-based access to all relevant services, information and communication offerings. Together with IBM we managed to achieve this goal in a very short time.”
According to Sebastian Krause, Vice President of the Software Group of IBM in Germany, “The new employee portal puts a flexible information and communication platform at the disposal of Audi that allows all business processes to be integrated independently of their respective application platforms. This enables the company to optimize the working, information and knowledge processes that are indispensable to keeping up with the relentless pace of change in today’s market.”
